American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning Announces New Limited Manufacturer's Warranties

Tyler, TX (September 21, 2001) –  American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, Unitary Products Group, a division of American Standard Companies (NYSE:ASD), announced that it would offer new limited manufacturer's warranties on residential products.

Every American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning Allegiance® air conditioner and Heritage® heat pump will now carry a 10-year limited warranty on the Duration™ compressor and Spine Fin^® Coil and a 5-year limited warranty on all other parts.

Every American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning "X," "Y," or "Z" packaged unit will now carry a 10-year limited warranty on the Duration™ compressor and outdoor coil and a 5-year limited warranty on all other parts.

All other American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning cooling and heat pump models and packaged units, as well as gas furnaces, air handlers, coils and accessories will now carry a 5-year internal functional parts limited warranty.

The new limited warranties, available with installations after October 1, 2001, are only on residential installations for products manufactured in the year 2000 or after. Existing limited warranties on commercial products will remain unchanged.
