There are unwanted piles of dust, pet hair and other particles known as dust
bunnies inhabiting homes big and small. They hide under the couch, lurk behind
the computer and even form colonies under the bed while homeowners sleep. They’re
called dust bunnies, and American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning wants to help you get rid of them.
We surveyed homeowners in 20 major U.S. cities for
the first-ever American Standard Dust Bunny Barometer. From Pittsburgh to
Los Angeles to Chicago and Denver, homeowners in each city told us about their dust
bunnies, what causes them, and how they battle them. They also provided
insights about the air quality in their homes. Check out the results below
to find out how homeowners responded from your area, as well as receive
important facts about you can get clean indoor air and get rid of dust bunnies.
Health and clean air facts.
Allergy Sufferers Beware- More than half of the respondents said someone in their home suffered from an allergy-inducing ailment.
- Respondents in Houston, Sacramento and Charlotte suffer more often from ailments that make them susceptible to allergens than do other cities.
- Most respondents said they were "concerned for their family's health."
- Just over four-fifths agreed that they were concerned with the quality of the air inside their home and concerned with the comfort of their home.
- At least three-quarters of respondents from all markets agreed that they were "very/somewhat concerned" about the quality of air in their homes.
- Respondents across all markets (three-quarters) said their home air was "very clean" or "somewhat clean."
- Boston and Orlando respondents perceived their air "very/somewhat clean" more often than other cities do.
- Houston, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore respondents more frequently said their air was “very/somewhat unclean” than some of the other cities.
