Multi-split ductless systems, like mini-splits, have one outdoor unit. The difference is that multi-split units can have up to five indoor units, all connected to one outdoor unit. This makes multi-split ductless systems a viable option for whole home heating and cooling without the presence of ductwork.
Ductless systems condition your home without the presence of ducts. Instead, the indoor unit is inserted directly into the room or space it’s intended to heat or cool.
