Why choose an American Standard air conditioner

American Standard central air conditioners are among the most energy-efficient, quiet, and reliable central AC units available to homeowners today. You can count on us for engineering excellence geared to increase efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance your home comfort.

Wide selection of energy-efficient air conditioners in popular sizes

Choose from a variety of American Standard energy-efficient AC units in multiple capacities to suit any size home. These include:

  • Variable-speed air conditioners
  • Multi-speed air conditioners
  • Single-stage air conditioners

And within each product line, we offer multiple sizing options, including:

  • 2-ton AC units
  • 2.5-ton AC units
  • 3-ton AC units
  • 3.5 ton AC units
  • 4-ton AC units
  • 5-ton AC units

Not all units are available in all sizes. Work with your local American Standard dealer to ensure you get the right size central air conditioner for your home. Proper sizing via a Manual J load calculation is essential to future efficiency and comfort.

“Beware of dealers who don’t perform load calculations and rely either on very basic rules of thumb or just want to replace your system with whatever you currently have.  Those are usually signs that you should find a better dealer.”

-Mark Woodruff, Senior Product Manager, Ducted Outdoors

SEER2 and EER2 ratings

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER2) and Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER2) ratings measure an air conditioner’s energy efficiency. The higher the number, the more energy-efficient the air conditioning system is at cooling your home across a range of temperatures.

American Standard air conditioners range from 13.4 SEER2 up to 23.6 SEER2 for our most energy-efficient air conditioner. Your real-life ratings will vary based on the AC unit you purchase and the indoor unit you pair it with. Complete your HVAC system with one of our smart thermostats for comfort control, energy savings, and peace of mind.

Innovative technology for energy efficiency and humidity control

Our innovative technology is what makes our energy-efficient AC units so good at helping you reduce your energy consumption while improving your home comfort. Some features include:

  • Duration™ variable-speed, multi-speed, and single-stage compressors
  • All-aluminum SpineFin™ Coils
  • Superior humidity control
  • American Standard Link™ Connectivity on variable-speed units
  • Optional AllWeather™ tops to enhance durability

Quiet air conditioners

Our central AC units are made with sound level in mind. These outdoor units are quiet enough not to interrupt conversation when you’re out on the deck or patio, and for placement under a bedroom window. Our AccuComfort™ variable-speed air conditioners even have a compressor sound enclosure for a quiet home environment.

Durability is built in

Durability is built into our energy-efficient HVAC equipment to ensure your system lasts. In our SEET Lab in Tyler, TX, we push our systems to the limit to satisfy our higher standards. We subject them to bone-chilling cold, blistering heat, extreme moisture, and power fluctuations.

They endure eight consecutive two-week sessions under accelerated conditions, adding up to more than 2,600 hours of continuous testing. That’s years’ worth of wear and tear concentrated into four months. All to ensure only the best, most reliable systems make it into our customers’ homes.
